Strength Without the Bulk

A durable dog collar doesn’t have to feel heavy-duty.

Ridgeline™ uses silicone-dipped polyester webbing that feels surprisingly soft and flexible while providing the strength you want from gear made for hiking, travel, and everyday adventures. Integrated reflectivity adds visibility when an early trail start turns into a late finish.

We especially like that balance because a collar can stay on your dog for hours at a time. Less weight and stiffness around the neck simply makes sense when you can get the durability without them.

Technical Hardware That Earns Its Place

The Fidlock® magnetic buckle is one of those details you appreciate more every time you use it. Bring the two sides together and the buckle self-aligns into place. Opening it takes one hand — useful when the leash is already in the other, you’re wearing gloves, or your trail buddy is ready to go.

A lightweight aluminum V-ring provides a dedicated leash connection, while the ID tag gets its own adjustable attachment point. Ruffwear even added a silicone tag silencer to reduce the constant jingle.

Choose your Ridgeline™ Collar by your dog’s actual neck measurement, rather than their usual collar size. Measure around the neck exactly where the collar will naturally sit.

The fit should be close and secure without feeling restrictive. As a guide, you should be able to comfortably slide about two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck.

How to Measure Your Dog’s Neck

Wrap a flexible measuring tape around the part of your dog’s neck where the collar normally rests. Keep the tape close to the coat without pulling it tight or compressing the neck.

What If Your Dog Is Between Sizes?

Don’t choose a size simply because the collar can technically be fastened. A good fit should leave enough adjustment range to fine-tune the collar comfortably and securely.

If your dog measures right at the transition between two sizes, consider their neck shape, coat thickness, and how you prefer the collar to sit. Dogs with dense or seasonally changing coats may benefit from leaving additional adjustment range.
