For us, a car awning is the perfect addition to any vehicle setup - whether it's a micro-camper, SUV, or full-size van - it doesn't matter. With an awning, you can create a beautiful, weather-protected outdoor space anywhere, anytime, in minutes.

The Yakima Slim Shady takes up very little space on your roof rack - just 6 inches deep, leaving plenty of room for cargo boxes, bike racks, and even or especially in combination with a roof tent, there is always a way to install it.

The universal mounting brackets can be installed without tools and fit most roof racks, and thanks to its light weight, the Side Awning can even be installed at higher heights.

Once in place, installation couldn't be faster:

Open the cover, loosen the fastening straps and roll up the awning. There are 2 solid telescopic poles pre-installed in the front area, which are folded out and set up.

There are two more pre-installed tensioning poles in the rail on the vehicle to support the sides - unfold, hook in, adjust and attach the awning fabric to the poles with the Velcro straps.

Depending on weather conditions, especially wind and rain, you should anchor your awning to the ground using the guy ropes and pegs included in the package.
