Productinformation in detailA great cast iron skillet isn’t about trends or shortcuts. It’s about honest materials, serious heat retention, and flavors that only develop when steel, oil, and fire work together. The Barebones cast iron skillets are made for exactly that kind of cooking – at home, on the grill, or over an open flame.
No chemical coatings. No recycled steel with unknown history. Just clean, solid cast iron that performs exactly the way it should.
—
Barebones deliberately avoids PTFE, PFOA, and any type of synthetic non-stick coating. Instead, these skillets rely on pure, uncoated cast iron, pre-seasoned with sunflower oil. Over time, a natural patina develops through use – creating a surface that becomes better with every meal.
That means:
no harmful fumes at high heat
no flaking or peeling layers
no interference with flavor
Just clean, confident cooking – even at extreme temperatures.
—
Unlike many cast iron pans made from recycled steel, Barebones uses new, uncontaminated raw material. This reduces the risk of impurities and significantly improves structural stability. The result is a skillet that handles rapid temperature changes with ease – from stovetop to open fire – without warping, cracking, or weakening over time.
For outdoor cooking, this makes a real difference.
—
Cast iron is known for weight – Barebones rethinks that. These skillets are about 15% lighter than many comparable cast iron pans, making them easier to handle without sacrificing heat retention or cooking performance.
Two integrated pour spouts allow for clean draining of fats and sauces, while the ergonomic handle offers a secure grip and includes a hanging loop for practical storage – whether in your kitchen or at camp.
—
Cast iron doesn’t need complicated care – and it definitely doesn’t need detergent. Warm water is usually enough. For stubborn residues, simply boil a little water in the pan, wipe it clean, and dry it while warm. A light coat of high-smoke-point oil from time to time keeps the surface protected and the patina strong.
Treat it well, and this skillet won’t just last for years – it will likely last a lifetime.
—
These skillets are for people who care about what their cookware is made of and how it performs. No coatings, no compromises, no disposable thinking. Just honest cast iron that delivers deep sear marks, real flavor, and absolute reliability – wherever you choose to cook.
Available in 8" / 10" / 12" – ready for everyday meals and real outdoor adventures alike.

Materials & Care
Cast iron (pure, uncoated cast iron)
The Barebones skillets are made from solid cast iron with no chemical coating. Instead of recycled steel, new and uncontaminated raw material is used. This ensures excellent heat stability, even heat distribution, and reliable performance – even at very high temperatures or over an open fire.
Pre-seasoned with sunflower oil
Each skillet is factory-seasoned with sunflower oil and ready to use right away. With regular cooking, a natural patina develops that continuously improves non-stick performance.
Cleaning
Warm water is usually sufficient for cleaning. Avoid dish soap, as it can damage the natural patina. For stubborn residues, simply boil a small amount of water in the skillet and wipe it clean.
Drying
Always dry the skillet thoroughly after cleaning. Briefly heating it on the stovetop helps remove any remaining moisture and prevents rust.
Oiling & seasoning
From time to time, apply a thin layer of high-smoke-point oil (such as sunflower, flaxseed, or cold-pressed canola oil). This maintains the protective layer and keeps the surface in optimal condition.
Storage
Store the skillet in a dry place. When stacking with other cookware, placing a cloth or paper towel between items helps protect the patina.
